The event will be held on Saturday April 10, 2010, from 9 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with plant sales starting at 9:00 a.m. The location once again is History Park at Kelley Park, 1650 Senter Road, San Jose, CA 95112. Admission is free and the garden market is always held, rain or shine.
UCCE Master Gardener Jim Maley says that the focus is on the growing and culinary uses of vegetables, with an emphasis on tomatoes and peppers. “We help people select, plant and prepare veggies for victory against high food costs by reducing greenhouse gases, etc.” His specialty is the Chili pepper group; he will also have a kiosk featuring a fledgling mushroom cultivation project highlighting oyster and shiitake production.
